Violist, Ayano Nakamura,

has won 2nd prize at the 2025 Washington International Strings Competition and the Prize for the Best Interpretation of a piece by Bohuslav MartinuÌŠ at the 2025 Oskar Nedbal competition in Prague, and the 2023 A Far Cry Collaborative Competition. As an avid chamber musician, she has participated in many festivals in the U.S. and Europe, such as NUME Festival Academy, Verbier Festival Academy, Edinburgh International Festival, Gstaad String Academy, Perlman Chamber Music Workshop, and Kneisel Hall, among others. She has collaborated and performed with established artists including Andreas Brantelid, Ettore Causa, Merry Peckham, Eric Wong, Abigail Rojansky, Mathieu Herzog, Nick Zoulek, and A Far Cry Chamber Ensemble.

has performed as a soloist in masterclasses for artists including Tabea Zimmermann, Antoine Tamestit, Lars Anders Tomter, Matte Szucs, Ettore Causa, Jeffrey Irvine, Steven Tenenbom, Lynne Ramsey, Noemie Bialobroda, and Thomas Riebl.

Originally from Hudson, Ohio, she is a graduate of the New England Conservatory and Yale School of Music, and she is currently pursuing a Masters of Musical Arts degree at the Yale School of Music where she studies with Ettore Causa.
